Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have.

Who we are

Wasatch Cleaners LLC ("we," "us," "our") is a Utah-based residential and commercial cleaning company. Questions: info@wasatch-cleaners.com or (385) 213-8900.

Information we collect

You give us

  • Contact information: name, email, phone, mailing / service address.
  • Booking details: property type, bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, service preferences, special instructions, pet information, entry method.
  • Account information: password (hashed, never stored in plain text), notification preferences.
  • Communications: messages you send us through the chat widget, email, SMS, or contact form.
  • Feedback: reviews, ratings, satisfaction responses.

Collected automatically

  • Device information: browser, operating system, IP address (hashed for anti-abuse).
  • Usage analytics: pages visited, referral source, session duration (in aggregate, non-personal).
  • Cookies: session cookies for login state, preference cookies for language and saved address, analytics cookies (opt-out available).

Payment information

We do not store full credit card numbers. All payment details are collected and stored by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor, Stripe. We retain only a tokenized reference, the last four digits, card brand, and expiration for receipts and future charges you authorize.

How we use your information

  • To provide the cleaning service you booked (scheduling, staff assignment, arrival communications).
  • To process payments and issue receipts.
  • To send transactional messages (booking confirmations, reminders, invoice notifications).
  • To send promotional messages only if you opted in (you can opt out anytime in your account settings or via the unsubscribe link in any promotional email).
  • To improve our service, train our staff, and respond to feedback.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share only with:

  • Our cleaning staff who need your address, entry method, and service details to perform the cleaning.
  • Service providers that help us operate: Stripe (payments), QuickBooks Online (accounting), Hostinger (hosting), OpenPhone (SMS), Postmark / ShockHosting (email delivery). These partners are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
  • Government or law enforcement only when legally required.
  • A successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business - you will be notified in advance.

How we protect your data

  • All site traffic uses HTTPS / TLS encryption.
  • Passwords stored using bcrypt hashing (we never see them in plain text).
  • Admin access protected by two-factor authentication.
  • Audit log of every admin action on your data.
  • Regular security reviews, vulnerability scans, and backups.
  • Detailed security policies available on request to enterprise clients.

How long we keep your information

  • Active customers: for the life of the account.
  • Inactive accounts with no bookings in 24 months: deleted or anonymized on request.
  • Guest bookings: booking record retained for accounting / warranty; personal contact info purged after 12 months if no account is created.
  • Financial records: 7 years (IRS and state requirements).

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal information we have about you, in a portable machine-readable format. Download this any time from your account export tool.
  • Correction. Update or correct inaccurate information directly in your account settings.
  • Deletion. Delete your personal data. Use the Delete my account button on your profile page, or email us. Financial records (invoices, payments, gift cards) are retained for the period required by tax law (typically 7 years) but contain no usable personal identifiers after deletion.
  • Portability. Export your booking history, invoices, payments, and uploaded photos as a ZIP at any time.
  • Opt-out of marketing. Unsubscribe from promotional emails and SMS at any time, with no effect on transactional service messages (booking confirmations, reminders, receipts).
  • Restriction. Object to or restrict certain uses of your data; contact us to request specific limitations.
  • Non-discrimination. We will not deny service or charge a different price because you exercised any of the rights above.

Email info@wasatch-cleaners.com for any request that cannot be completed in-app. We respond within 15 business days (and within 45 days for verifiable CCPA requests as required by California law).

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific rights:

  • Right to know what categories of personal information we collect, sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected, subject to certain legal exceptions (e.g., completing a transaction, complying with tax law).
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive PI (e.g., precise geolocation) for any purpose other than providing the cleaning service you requested.
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising any CCPA right.

Categories of personal information collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (name, email, phone, address), commercial information (booking and payment history), internet activity (cookies, session logs), geolocation (service address, optional GPS check-in for crews), and inferences drawn from this data (e.g., service tier, frequency).

To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app tools (export, profile) or contact info@wasatch-cleaners.com. You may designate an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf; we will require written proof of authorisation.

Do Not Track

Our site does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals at this time because there is no consensus standard. We do not engage in cross-site behavioural tracking regardless of DNT.

Children

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices change. Material changes will be announced via email to active customers at least 30 days before the effective date. The latest version is always at wasatch-cleaners.com/privacy.
