The final walkthrough · Field note 18
A turnover is more than a clean room.
For a short-term rental, cleanliness and readiness are separate checks. Work from the property’s agreed turnover list and capture anything that needs the host’s decision.

A method worth keeping
Three deliberate steps.
01
Check condition before resetting
Record damage, missing items, and unusual mess privately. Do not hide a problem under fresh bedding or guess what the host wants discarded.
02
Reset to the property standard
Clean the agreed scope, replace linens as required, and verify the supply list. Keep used and clean textiles separate.
03
Run the arrival check
Review entry instructions, room readiness, bins, and agreed thermostat or lighting settings. Report unresolved issues before calling the turnover complete.
A little help goes a long way
Let us take care of the clean.
Always follow the surface maker’s care instructions and product label. Never mix cleaning products. This guide is for ordinary household care, not hazardous-material remediation. Product-specific instructions take priority.
