The final walkthrough · Field note 16
Walk the empty room before the keys leave.
An empty property makes missed edges visible. Use the written lease and agreed cleaning scope as the starting point; a checklist can document condition but cannot guarantee a deposit outcome.

A method worth keeping
Three deliberate steps.
01
Walk one room at a time
Check reachable surfaces, floors, corners, and the inside of empty storage that is included in the agreed scope. Record existing damage separately.
02
Check the easy-to-miss edges
Look behind open doors, along baseboards, on window sills, and around handles. Inspect appliance interiors only if they are part of the agreement.
03
Document before handover
Take dated wide views and relevant close-ups before moving items back in. Keep notes, completion photos, and handover details together.
A little help goes a long way
Let us take care of the clean.
Always follow the surface maker’s care instructions and product label. Never mix cleaning products. This guide is for ordinary household care, not hazardous-material remediation. Product-specific instructions take priority.
